Villupuram- Mayiladuthurai Guage Conversion Work Delays

The much awaite Pongal gift from the Indian Railways to TamilNadu people has once again been eluded as there is no scope for the opening of the Broad Guage railway line between Villupuram and Mayiladuthurai and it has been more than 4 years since the path was shut down for the purpose of guage conversion. The railway authorities are citing some technical difficulties for the delay in the progress but the actual reason is some other since the railways have taken more number of difficult projects than this and have executed them in a record span of time.

Since the dates are post-poned 9 times is there any exact date when this line will be open? Also please provide list of trains to be operated between Chennai to KUMBAKONAM. Every day several thousands of peoples using kumbakonam to chennai travel and bus trsport is like hell. We are expecting southeren railways help immediately and avoid delay due to private bus transport peoples pressure on post-poning this railway route. I hope railway officers will be straight forward and the will really help poor peoples by opening this line.

A little ray of hope that the passenger services may start by March 2010.
