Train service to Tiruvannamalai
The southern railway chief Dheepak krishan has stated that the on going guage conversion work between villupuram and tiruvannamalai would be completed by March and will be thrown to passenger traffic along with the villupuram- mayiladuthurai main line. If the 160km railways strech is connected, then there would be enough train support between chennai and tiruvannamalai which would be of a great help to passengers during festival times and full moon days where lakhs of people take part in giri valam or circum navigating the auspicious mountain.
