Times of India has been the leading newspaper in India for decades. They have the highest distribution and readership in India. Many papers like DNA, Hindustan Times, have also established themselves well and have gained a good amount of readership but they have not been able to compete with TOI. TOI still remains the top on the list.
IT is actually a matter of loyalty towards a particular newspaper. Reading newspaper becomes a habit and people get adapted to a particular newspaper as they keep reading it every day. Every newspaper has a particular pattern of writing, different layouts, different look, similar news is put in all the newspapers in different ways. People get habituated to a particular pattern of reading over a period of time.
Times of India newspaper has the best editorials compared to any other newspaper. They cover all news. It is very well known for the ‘Speaking tree’ column. They have a Crest Edition which has the best editorial articles. Economic Times is the best financial paper and it rules the financial newspaper market till date.
Even though you may different newspapers, if given an option most people will prefer reading Times of India. TOI has established themselves so well. They have completely penetrated into the newspaper market. They have been and will always be the leading newspaper in India.
